We at Community of Hope are heartbroken today that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Grants Pass, Oregon in its case against Gloria Johnson (2024).

The annual reception brought together 350 business and philanthropic leaders to raise funds and awareness to improve health and end family homelessness in Washington, DC.

This event, hosted by Community of Hope, DC Library, and the Metropolitan Police Department, is a local community highlight which distributes more than 1,500 backpacks to the community, offers health screenings, hair care for students, and family fun activities.

Community of Hope Opens Expanded Family Health and Birth Center Relocated Center Increases Access to Medical, Emotional Wellness and Retains Birthing Services

MedStar Health and Community of Hope partner to provide access to specialty maternal health care for families living in the District’s most under-resourced neighborhoods.

WASHINGTON, DC, JUNE 18, 2021 – Community of Hope has been named one of The Washington Post’s 2021 Top Workplaces Award in the Washington, D.C. area. This 2021 award is the sixth time since 2014 that the organization has received this award.

Community of Hope, in partnership with DC Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced today that they are expanding access to COVID-19 monoclonal antibody (mAb) treatments and will begin administering the therapies at Community of Hope’s health center in Ward 8.

Community Hope is pleased to announce that it was included among the awardees of the first round of grants issued by Direct Relief’s Fund for Health Equity, which mobilizes financial resources for community health centers, free and charitable clinics, and other nonprofit organizations focused on non-clinical interventions that affect a person's health – commonly known as the social determinants of health, these factors include a person's physical, social, political, cultural, and economic environments. 

Community of Hope (COH) is partnering with MedStar Health in its D.C. Safe Babies Safe Moms initiative, creating a holistic and integrated care model. 

Community of Hope is thrilled to expand our critical services at Family Health and Birth Center. 

The event will be hosted as a part of MPD’s Beat the Streets series, a traveling community festival established as a partnership between the Metropolitan Police Department, social service agencies, and community vendors.

During this special anniversary event, all are invited to enjoy free food, music, games, giveaways, community resources, and a no-cost healthy Community Market featuring fresh fruits, vegetables, and pantry items.  

Over 400 guests gathered at The Rooftop of 101 Constitution for Community of Hope’s annual celebratory reception, Night of Hope, benefiting their work to end homelessness and improve health for DC families.

Community of Hope has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces Award by The Washington Post. This 2018 award is the fourth time in five years that the organization and its employees have received this award. 

Community of Hope (COH) just re-opened its doors to its newly renovated Marie Reed Health Center. The facility is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of thousands of the City’s low-income, immigrant and refugee community members.
