Volunteer on your own or engage your workplace, family, or community to volunteer with us and inspire hope! 

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer with families or individuals overcoming homelessness at one of our housing sites by playing games, doing crafts, sharing a skill, hosting a lunch, or moreOrganize a collection drive of critical items or host a holiday party to spread cheer!  

We welcome volunteers 14+ at Fam-Club.

Find a volunteer opportunity that interests you by viewing our current opportunities here. Simply create your Community of Hope volunteer profile and sign up for opportunities on Volunteer Hub!

For certain positions, individual applications will be reviewed and potential volunteers will be contacted for an interview.

Visit our calendar of events and then view availability for an event by clicking the event title. When you want to register for an event, click the sign-up button, and either login or create an account when prompted. Once you are logged in, you can return to the calendar and sign up for any other events you’d like without having to log in again.

You’ll know you have successfully been signed up for an event when you receive a confirmation email.

You are an important part of the team! In order to ensure that we have enough volunteers for each shift, we count on you to keep your commitment. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you cancel via VolunteerHub, email, or phone as soon as you know of a change in your plans. If you miss two or more shifts without contacting Community of Hope staff, your VolunteerHub account will be locked (you will not be able to log in), until you have a further conversation with Community of Hope staff. We appreciate your understanding.

When Vernada, a mom of four, left Charlotte, North Carolina, she was focused on one thing—keeping her family safe.

LaDonnae Wells, a mother of two, had been searching for stable housing while navigating motherhood. Now, as her youngest child celebrates their first birthday, LaDonnae is expressing deep gratitude to her perinatal care coordinator, who supported her throughout her pregnancy ensuring she had the resources, care, and guidance she needed while also experiencing homelessness.

Black history at Community of Hope isn’t something visited once a year. It’s embedded in how we serve, how we grow, and how we invest in our people. It lives in the stories of staff whose work and leadership have shaped the organization over time. One of those stories belongs to Candice Jones – our longest-serving Black staff member.

At 65 years old, Tony makes healthy choices with confidence. He talks about food labels like a researcher. He monitors his glucose like a scientist. He jokes about giving up pepper steak like it’s a strategic decision —not a sacrifice. But there was a time when none of that felt clear to Tony.

After helping raise 15 nieces and nephews, Aaliyah, a first-time mother thought, “Yeah, I got this.” But when her son, Jalen, was born just 8 months ago, she quickly realized that parenting your own child brings a different kind of responsibility and a new set of challenges!

When you think of birthday parties, you think balloons, games, and fun — and that’s exactly what members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Alpha Beta Upsilon Omega Chapter, brought to families in Fam-Club throughout last year, hosting four  birthday parties, and Five nights at Fam-Club!
