Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Community of Hope! Our volunteer program offers a number of individual and group volunteer activities – matching a wide range of interests, skills, and commitment levels.
The following opportunities are great for one-time and reoccurring volunteers or for groups of up to six people.
Dinnertime at The Triumph
Support families overcoming homelessness and give back to your local community! Help lead fun activities and serve dinner to the residents.
Bring birthday cheer to children and families experiencing homelessness! This is a great opportunity for small groups.
The following opportunities require a longer-term commitment from volunteers. If you are interested in any of these, please create a Volunteer Account, and sign up for an orientation.
The Commons Receptionist
Help make The Commons a warm and welcoming community center in Ward 8.
Play Night at Hope Apartments
Spend a fun evening with children (over 18 months) reading and playing while their parents attend educational workshops. Play Night is a great way to spend quality time with children while letting them explore their senses, creativity, and more!
Kids Club at Girard Street Apartments
Provide children with the opportunity to participate in fun activities that support the development of strong social skills and creativity. Kids Club is a safe and enjoyable space where children get to be creative, bond with caring adults, and be themselves!
Diaper Donation Pick-Up
Help our parents be well-prepared to care for their babies by picking up diaper donations!
Empower a young person to succeed by becoming a Community of Hope mentor! Be a wise and trusted friend to a young person who has experienced homelessness.

Community of Hope is changing operations to our Volunteer Doula Program. We will no longer use doulas in a volunteer capacity. Instead, we will find new ways to connect patients to doulas in the community. We will look to partner with doula collectives and individuals in the area who can provide pro-bono doula services for Community of Hope parents.
Community of Hope's 451 volunteers devoted their time to serve our families in 2018.
Corporate partners, community groups and individuals can volunteer to help throw monthly birthday parties for kids at our Girard Street Apartments and Hope Apartments.
