Feeding the Soul, Strengthening the Community

On September 27th, Community of Hope supporters and friends gathered for Feeding the Soul, Strengthening the Community, our fifth annual cocktail reception. The event was held at Patton Boggs LLP, one of the event’s gold sponsors. During the reception, guests mingled, enjoyed delicious appetizers, and learned about Community of Hope’s accomplishments over the past year.

Executive Director Kelly Sweeney McShane showed us how far we’ve come, with the addition of the Family Health and Birth Center, the ground breaking for our Health and Resource Center, and an increase in the number of people served by our health centers. Our Honorary Host Committee Chair, WUSA9 newscaster Lesli Foster, reminded us why what we do is so important. She shared the emotional story of one of our clients, a mother, who had experienced homelessness. Despite challenges and setbacks, this client is now regaining her quality of life with the help of Community of Hope.

Each year Feeding the Soul, Strengthening the Community gives us the opportunity to support our neighbors in need – a cause our community is passionate about!
