When Paula came to Community of Hope nearly 20 years ago, she was trying to keep her family together. After the death of her mother, Paula and her six children no longer had a place to live. “That left me and my kids homeless.” At the time, she and her family had to stay in a shelter.

From Patient to Parent: Donnatela’s Journey  
For Donnatela, Community of Hope has always been part of her story. She first came to Community of Hope when she was 17 years old. Her mother, who is also a patient, first brought her through our doors. Over the years, she returned for dental care, primary care, wisdom teeth removal, and more.

Long before he could easily communicate his feelings with words, Killian—who has autism—found another way to communicate: he sculpted little faces out of clay. "The first thing he started doing was sculpting little faces," Ferris said. "That was his first way of trying to communicate. He would make little faces to let you know how he was feeling."
