When the Community of Hope pharmacy calls to say her prescriptions are ready, Debbierena Hopkins knows she’ll be stopping by. Not because she has to – patients can choose delivery or mailing option. She stops by because she wants to.

A lifelong Washington, DC, resident, Debbierena has trusted Community of Hope with her healthcare for more than a decade. She sees her primary care provider through Community of Hope, fills her prescriptions at the pharmacy, and relies on the organization for many of her healthcare needs.
She also shows up for someone else. She helps care for her sister, making sure medications are filled and appointments are managed. Caregiving is its own kind of full-time work, and having a pharmacy that is reliable, communicative, and genuinely helpful is not a small thing. It is one less worry in a day that is already full of them.
Before using our onsite Pharmacy, Debbierena filled prescriptions at larger retail pharmacies, where medications were not always available when needed.

“If I have any concerns or questions about medication for my sister or myself, they’ll explain it in detail,” she said. “They don’t rush.”

Her sister now receives medications through home delivery, one less errand, one less worry. Debbierena still comes in for herself. The delivery option is there, but for her, the pharmacy is also a place she genuinely looks forward to.
