Dr. Sherman joined Community of Hope in March 2023. As the Vice President of Community Impact and Evaluation, she oversees community-driven programs such as the Bellevue Family Success Center and the Housing Our Newborns, Empowering You (HONEY) Program. She also coordinates COH’s internal evaluation efforts and external research partnerships.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Sherman has worked with various K-16 education, non-profit and government organizations across the metropolitan DC area to support vision-driven growth and organizational change. She is formally trained in mixed-methods research, program evaluation, and strategic planning; however, her roots are in community outreach and place-based support services for communities of color. Prior to joining COH, Dr. Sherman served as the Program Manager for Quality Improvement at DC Child & Family Services Agency, where her data and evaluation expertise were instrumental in assisting the agency in exiting 30+ years of court oversight.
Dr. Sherman earned a Bachelor’s degree in African American Studies, Master’s degree in Minority & Urban Education, and Doctorate in Education Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Maryland – College Park.
