Community of Hope is excited to announce our upcoming event series “Infant Massage Class.”

Join us for an enriching four-session class where parents will discover ways to strengthen their bond with their baby. Through engaging demonstrations with a realistic infant doll, our instructor will guide you in nurturing techniques to enhance your relationship.

This class welcomes Community of Hope families with newborns aged 6 weeks and younger, as well as babies who are not yet crawling. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with your little one!

Community of Hope CEO Speaks Out on Encampment Closures in DC

Kelly Sweeney McShane, President and CEO of Community of Hope, joined WUSA9 to address the urgent and deeply concerning closures of encampments on National Park property in Washington, DC. With just 24 hours’ notice, residents have been forced to leave or face arrest — a move that Kelly warns is both devastating and ineffective.

Building a Legacy of Support

When Tarkeina thinks back to her early days of motherhood, one word comes to mind: disconnected. Before she ever set foot in Community of Hope, she was navigating the complex world of health care and breastfeeding with uncertainty and without the guidance she wanted. "I felt disconnected.” As a new mother and a Black woman, she didn’t feel fully supported in her health or her breastfeeding journey. That sense of isolation shifted when her mother, Tarkeina Thorne a patient at Community of Hope, introduced her to the care and community she had been missing.

A Life-Saving Decision

For years, Warren Ingram, patient and board member, rode past our Conway Health and Resource Center without knowing exactly what that building was. One afternoon, something told him to stop. That small decision led to a chain of events that, he says, saved his life.
