Dr. Medhanit Tekle has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology from Washington and Lee University. She received her medical education from Escuela Latino Americana de Medicina (Latin American School of Medicine) in Havana, Cuba. She completed the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine sponsored by the Institute for Family Health in affiliation with the Mount Sinai Health System. She also completed a maternity care fellowship with the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. She is board-certified in family medicine. Medhanit has been with Community of Hope since October 2020. She provides medical care for patients of all ages at both the Marie Reed and Conway Health and Resource Centers. She has a particular interest in women’s health/prenatal care. Outside of work, Medhanit enjoys jogging, hiking, swimming, dancing salsa, spending time with family, and traveling.
