Dr. Asha Subramanian is a Board-certified family physician and lifestyle medicine physician with specific expertise in evidence-based lifestyle change. Dr. Subramanian worked at Community of Hope back in 2008, and is very excited to be returning to the COH family! She has a B.A./M.A. in psychology from Stanford University, and an M.D./Masters of Public Health degree from Oregon Health Science University. Her family medicine residency was at the University of Pittsburgh St. Margaret’s Hospital program. Dr. Subramanian also completed a fellowship in community health at Georgetown University. Her professional interests include lifestyle medicine and the use of nutrition, exercise, sleep, mindfulness and other strategies to optimize health; health behavior change; community health advocacy; health literacy; and teaching others about whole food, plant-based nutrition. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her young daughter, husband, and dog. She also enjoys getting all kinds of exercise and fitness; volunteering at her local school; being a Girl Scout Troop leader; supporting animal rescue; cooking; music; and reading. Her desired superpower is to learn a language at the first listen, and hopes to work on her Spanish and other languages at Community of Hope.
