Current status of Birthing Services: Due to unforeseen changes with our midwife staff, we will now be partnering with Midwives of MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MOMs) to provide labor and delivery services for patients from Family Health and Birth Center (FHBC).  This change will take effect for all births starting November 7, 2014.
At Family Health and Birth Center, our midwives will continue to provide prenatal care, including groups, throughout your pregnancy. In addition, we will continue connecting our moms to our doula services and provide lactation and other postpartum services.
We have made this difficult decision because we are currently understaffed in our midwifery department. It is not our goal nor intention to limit services that our families enjoy and we are working to recruit experienced midwives to join our team. If you are a current patient with questions, please contact Lakita Matthews, Patient Services Manager at 202-398-5520, ext 216. Any other questions, please contact Leah Garrett, VP Development and Communications, at 202-407-7780.

ALSO AVAILABLE: We offer healthcare services at three locations across the District of Columbia including medical, dental, and behavioral health services. Click here to learn more.
