We offer a whole range of healthcare services for your whole family including:

For Children

  • Pediatric care

In 2012 our midwives assisted in the births of almost 265 babies. Our Cesarean section rate is 18%, way below the national average of 34%, and only 5% of babies were born preterm. Our facility is top-of-the-line and our outcomes are excellent. We have comfortable birthing rooms that include the option of water births.

Current status of Birthing Services: We have temporarily suspended births scheduled at the Family Health and Birth Center. During this period, our patients may deliver under the care of our midwives at Washington Hospital Center although all other services (group care, lactation support, prenatal visits) will continue at FHBC. We have made this difficult decision because we are currently understaffed in our midwifery department. We do want to ensure the highest quality of care and safety to our patients.  We are seeking to hire experienced midwives (who will have full access to delivering at both sites) as soon as possible. We had to choose to staff one of our two locations and opted for the location currently preferred by the largest group of our expectant mothers. We apologize for the concerns this has raised and ask for your patience. We hope to be fully staffed by fall 2014.
