Enriching Lives with Nutrition

Nzinga, 40, is a vibrant mother of two who got the push she needed to towards better health and wellness. Like many, Nzinga faced the challenge of balancing family, work, and personal health. After years of trying different methods to shed weight, she decided to seek support from Community of Hope.

Under the care of Sheila Tank, FNP, Nzinga learned about the nutrition resources offered by Community of Hope. Recognizing the importance of accountability and guidance, she eagerly embraced the opportunity to work with our dedicated nutritionist, Kathy McNeely.

Nzinga had tried numerous online apps and programs for her wellness and she found that Kathy’s personalized guidance has been a key to her success.  “Just meeting with somebody and seeing them face-to-face is helpful,” Nzinga says. Despite the demands of her schedule, she remained committed to her bi-weekly appointments. With Kathy’s guidance, Nzinga adopted healthier habits and lost an impressive 15 pounds. Even adding in and embracing her new weight training course, she realized that her goals extended beyond mere weight loss; she sought to build muscle and improve overall health.  “I’m already feeling better and more confident in myself,” Nzinga says of her progress.

Through her partnership with Kathy, Nzinga became more aware of her nutritional needs and developed strategies to navigate challenges. Despite life’s stressors, she remained focused on her goals.

Encouraged by her progress, Nzinga enthusiastically recommends building a support team around their goals. “People need more encouragement to support nutritional journey,” Nzinga said. She emphasizes the importance of honesty and openness in the journey towards better health, recognizing the power of sharing experiences and inspiring others.

And even though her journey isn’t over yet, she’s proud of how far she’s come. As she continues her journey, Nzinga remains grateful for the convenience of virtual appointments, allowing her to prioritize her health without worrying about childcare arrangements.

“Seeing a nutritionist is one of the most important things you can do for yourself,” says Nzinga.
