ONE VOLUNTEER'S VIEWPOINT
By: Jerry Zwirn, Community of Hope volunteer
March 2009
He offers relief from a common thief
That commits a crime by stealing scarce time
When necessary forms spawn huge paper storms
That must be tamed before someone is blamed
Among the lesser known of COH facts
Is how some volunteers are lured by snacks
This appears to be a standard technique
And seems to work well about once a week
Since each of us, if given our druthers
Finds some tasks more edifying than others
The point is that there is a higher cause
Which involves mending society's flaws
It all means a roof over many heads
And the chance to sleep on comfortable beds
So who can complain about routine chores
That help homeless folks open hopeful doors
