YOUTH ADVOCATE
Employer: Community of Hope is a nonprofit providing healthcare, housing and supportive services to the low-income and homeless populations in the District of Columbia.
Job Description: The Youth Advocate is an integral part of the housing program team. This position will provide case management services to homeless youth living in Community of Hope housing, ensuring that they are receiving needed supportive services. The primary responsibilities of this position will be performing initial intake of youth and parent(s) upon entry into the program, ensuring that children are in appropriate day care/school settings and are involved in life enriching after school activities, maintaining proper documentation, assessing children and making appropriate referrals, and developing or coordinating educational and recreational activities for the children.
Education: B.A./B.S. in Social Work or related field OR equivalent work experience. MSW preferred.
Additional Qualifications: Minimum three years experience working with at-risk youth. Experience working with homeless or low-income populations preferred.
