REGISTERED NURSE

Employer: Community of Hope is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center serving the uninsured and underinsured populations in the District of Columbia.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible directly to the Nurse Manager.   The position is responsible for performing nursing operations and clinical functions while assisting physicians and other nurses.  Responsibilities include but not limited to: triaging  patients visits for provider visits, documenting treatment and  performing medical observations regarding patient conditions, maintaining accurate medical records, following established protocol for preparing lab specimens, drawing blood for testing, calling in prescriptions refills, providing counseling along with and including HIV pre-testing for negative patients, recording vital signs, administering immunizations to adults, infants, children and performing follow up contact with patients via telephone and or mail on office visits, exams and lab work. 

Education: Bachelor (BA, BS, etc.) required.

Additional Qualifications: Certification as a Registered Nurse, BLS Certification, license to practice in the District of Columbia, and experience working with underserved populations required.  Bilingual in English and Spanish or Amharic preferred.
