EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

Community of Hope provides a variety of educational opportunities for the people we serve. In our housing programs, this includes weekly life skills classes focusing on topics including parenting, budgeting, and attitude. In our health clinic, patients with diabetes learn how to better manage their disease. Case Managers also refer clients to partner organizations for job training and education programs. Spiritual support includes onsite counseling, support groups and pastoral counseling.
Community of Hope’s programs for children and teens allows us to place a special focus on the kids and provide a more holistic approach to serving our families. We provide child advocacy, after-school programs, evening and weekend activities, and summer activities. Volunteers serve as ongoing mentors and tutors who work with children on improving math and reading skills, while offering life skills and enrichment activities.
In a partnership with Marie Reed Elementary School, COH provides a full-time, on-site School Health Coordinator. She has developed a Girls on the Run programs, helped raise funds for a PE teacher, and started a program to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to children during the school day.
